This airport is situated in Tegel, at the northern district of Reinickendorf and 8km (5mi) at the northwest of the center of Berlin. It has a special hexagonal feature with a total area of 466 hectares and 15 check-in areas in the building allowing access to approximately more than 22 million passengers per year.

How many terminals does the Airport have?

There are 5 terminals in Tegel Airport, Terminal A/B, the first one with a hexagon shape and no transit zone and a security clearance checkpoint in each gate, and it is the only one with baby care facilities along with showers. Meanwhile Terminal B is a converted waiting area and one walk boarding aircraft stand for it.

Terminal C has more than 10 years’ operating and it was formed as a temporary solution for a lower terminal capacity, however it now handles a transit zone for passengers, and a widebody- aircraft. It has one only level for departures and arrivals.

While Terminal D/E has two different level, one for each terminal. Terminal D it’s the only one part that remains working during all night and it was built in 2001 from a converted car park, and it has an extraordinary observation deck for visitors.
